HNBR

General Grade

Hydrogenated Acrylonitrile-Butadiene Rubber commonly referred to as HNBR. Good physical characteristics and chemical resistance to the most common hydraulic fluids makes HNBR an excellent sealing material. HNBR materials are often used in vegetable and animal oils as well as in high addivated oils, sour oils/gases (H2S) and crude oils.

RGD Grade

HNBR-RGD grade gas been optimized to withstand the risk of Rapid Gas Decompression (RGD) or Explosive Decompression (ED) which is an essential demand in the oil and gas industry.

Main Applications

Static and Dynamic seals, wipers, O-rings, Gaskets, Flange seals, rotary seal, rubber energisers in the oil and gas industry, especially in applications with high gas pressure. General application in petroleum fluids, water, greases, mineral oils.

Rapid Gas Decompression (RGD) validation:

The compound has been subjected to full 10 cycle RGD test in accordance with Norsok M-710 rev 2.Test conditions were 90% Methane/10% Carbon dioxide gas at 100° C and 150 Bar test pressure. The Highest possible rating of 0000 was achieved with no visible external or internal damage. A certificate is available on request.

Analysis and Evaluation

The mentioned properties are only valid for test pieces of the corresponding ISO, Din, and ASTM standards. They cannot be directly related to seals, gaskets and other sealing products and should be used only as a general guide. Customer required properties for the rubber material can be produced and analysised.
