PolyChloroTriFluoroEthylene is a fluorocarbon-based polymer and is commonly
abbreviated PCTFE.
PCTFE offers the unique combination of physical and mechanical properties,
nonflammability, chemical resistance, near zero moisture absorption, and
excellent electrical properties. These characteristics cannot be found in
any other thermoplastic fluoropolymer with a useful temperature range of
-400A°F to +400A°F (-240A°C to +204A°C).
APPLICATIONS
- Cryogenic applications -- super-cold refrigeration components
- Valves -- seats, stems, seals (Butterfly Valves for cryogenic applications
were developed for large pipes which are used to transport cryogenic fluids.
They are mainly used in storage and transport bases of liquefied natural gas
or in its transport ship).
- Seals for lip seals with spring energizer, o-rings, v-rings, special construction seals
- Compressors & pumps
- Gaskets -- pressure, diaphragm, liquid gauge seals, fluid handling
- Bearings -- sleeve & thrust
- Stock shapes -- for machining components
